Scientists around the world are increasingly linking global warming to more frequent and intense occurrences of adverse weather conditions, such as heatwaves and storms in the region. In response to this, the built environment must factor in climate resilience into every structure and infrastructure project to ensure that costly disasters are avoided, and life can return to normal as quickly as possible.

As part of their extensive Vision 2030 plans, Saudi authorities have outlined the development and support of local content and engineering activities in the Kingdom’s giga-projects. The summit will look at the success of programmes such as GES+ and highlight how local content can be nurtured to ensure that they are ready to maintain existing projects, and design, engineer and deliver future projects.
